The campaign to save the 1892 wooden station footbridge is going to be officially launched on Saturday 5th August at Alton Station. We have until April 2018 to raise enough money to remove the centre section to store it off-site so that it can be restored and replaced as funds allow. We have split the project into three phases: Rescue; Refurb; Restore. We have set a funding target of £170k for the first phase. We already have a donation pledge of £12,000 under our belt, so we are looking for people who also wish to see the footbridge retained who can give a donation towards saving it for posterity. If you would like to make a donation, please see our Donation page where you can download our pdf leaflet .
