The Friends of Alton Station have just issued their Ebbutt Report, available to download HERE. This report was written by Paul Ebbutt, a retired Railway and structural engineer on our committee, and includes information provided by a structural engineering report by Integral Engineering Design. The report offers a series of scenarios for the future of the footbridge at Alton Station. This is a public report designed to see what the real problems with the structure are and look at the realistic options. Whilst it is clear that it requires a lot of money spending upon the strucuture, we concude that the likely costs are going to be below those estimated by the Network Rail engineering department. Whilst we have estimated costs based upon the findings of the report, we are currently looking for a quantity surveyor to provide more accurate budgets for the various options.
